Charming peaceful accommodation at the top of Mojacar village
El Mirador del Castillo has five double rooms, each with shower or full bath. Every room is unique, with a mix of contemporary and antique furniture and works by well-known artists who frequent Mojacar to paint. All are corner rooms with sea view or mountain view and direct access to terraces, swimming pool and central garden. All bedrooms have air-conditioning and free internet access via wifi. The large master bedroom, Almanzora, has a king-sized bed. The Suite (Cabrera and Macenas) is a favorite with families or four friends.

An eagle’s nest with spectacular views from all sides over the Almanzora Valley, sea and garden. It is a very spacious room with a king-size double bed. The full bathroom overlooks sea and valley. The sofa opens to sleep two. There is a small fridge. The naïve, fantasy landscape was painted in the village by the American Sarah McKim Valentine. Writers appreciate the large writing desk. They can work in peace while the family plays by the pool below. The room has a private terrace overlooking the mountains and Almanzora valley and access to another terrace overlooking the sea.

A spacious room with views along the Mediterranean coast towards the Sierra Almagrera and the town of Aguilas. There is a 150cm double bed and en suite shower room. Sketches made here by the artist Alfonso Albacete have become canvases acquired by museums here and abroad. He and wife Marisa frequent el Castillo. The room opens onto a long terrace overlooking the sea.

Small but cosy room with 150cm double bed and en suite shower room. There are great views over the rooftops of Mojacar village and the valley of the Rio Aguas towards Bedar and the Sierra Filabres. The landscape of Mojacar is by an unknown visitor in the 1960s. The room opens onto a large terrace overlooking the village and with views in all directions.
Cabrera and Macenas are independent rooms, with their own entrances, sharing a full bathroom. Together they form the Suite, ideal for parents with children or four friends. Fernando Egozcue, composer and virtuoso guitarist, has given a number of concerts in the Salon. He stays here when on holiday with his family.
Twin-bedded room with views of the sea in one direction and over the rooftops of Mojacar village and towards the Sierra Cabrera in another direction. The painting is by Hector Carrera, done in Mojacar. The room opens onto its own small terrace.
Room with 150cm double bed. Has two windows facing south-east over the Mediterranean coast towards the beaches of Macenas and the Cabo de Gata National Park. The canvas by Rafael Santana Monagas, of Madrid and the Canary Islands, was painted while visiting. Access is through Cabrera.
